Planters motion capture  | Production development & workflow

in 2018, planters had a goal to create more socially responsive digital work. in particular, they wanted their social platform to be more reactive to the current social landscape. so I was tasked with finding a way of incorporating mr. peanut into all social concepts. unfortunately nothing about animation and custom cgi characters is fast nor cost effective. so as I began researching, I started to explore utilizing real time game engines used in video games. essentially I wanted to treat mr. peanut as a video game character. so I partnered with silver spoon studios in nyc as the have one of the largest motion capture studios on the east coast. by using a combination of motion capture and the unreal engine, it allowed us to create custom socially relevant actions with mr. peanut without needing to rely on traditional animation or cgi. the unique aspect of this was creating a motion capture shoot workflow and timeline that allowed the clients flexibility and a cost effective approach.

the two spots below were created by McGarryBowen utilizing the motion capture workflow I developed with silver spoon.
